S.C.A.R. Dolls are the one, the only, the original women's flat track roller derby league in Central Minnesota. Formed in 2011 they create an opportunity for the women in the Saint Cloud area to participate in the challenging, exciting, and empowering revival of modern roller derby.
Roller derby is currently one of the fastest growing sports in the world, with over 1450 amateur leagues currently in existence and new leagues are forming all the time. This is not the exhibitionist, pro-wrestling style derby of the 1970's, but a fast-paced, hard-hitting sport that the women of the S.C.A.R. Dolls are proud to be introducing to this wonderful community. We are working hard to make our league competitive in order to represent Saint Cloud both home and away.
Besides being talented and tenacious athletes, the S.C.A.R. Dolls are dedicated to giving back to the community through charity partnerships and fundraisers.

Jay and Melody Vachal founded Arise Cares in 2000 to improve the personal care services available to their son, Isaac, who has Cerebral Palsy and is blind. About that same time, Melody became the primary caregiver for her father. In response to his care needs, Arise Cares began offering in-home care and living assistance for elderly, chronically ill, or disabled people and their family caregivers. Today, Arise Cares, headquartered in St. Cloud, has over 200 caregivers providing services to Central Minnesota communities.
“Living it firsthand gives us a unique perspective and a deeper level of empathy for our clients. We believe you or your loved one should drive the decisions regarding how, when, where, and by whom care is provided. We can help you make these important decisions and ensure your loved one the dignity and compassionate care they deserve.”
At Arise, we’re committed to:
Deliver services that nurture the whole person—body, mind, and spirit
Provide each person we serve with dignity, individuality, and independence
Employ caregivers who are compassionate, genuinely committed, and qualified
Arise Cares gives back to our community
Our community matters. So we give back by leading the Expo for Seniors, donating time and resources to the Salvation Army, and contributing to the capital campaign of the new St. Cloud Area Family YMCA.
Community Outreach and Volunteerism
Scheels is dedicated to supporting the communities in which we live by being an active member within the community through everyday leadership. Scheels associates are challenged to make that same commitment. Our associates make a difference everyday by getting involved in everything from Meals on Wheels to supporting those in our communities who need help in a time of crisis.
From the United Way campaigns to community service organizations and local sports teams, we take pride in being able to improve the lives of others, that's why we donate our time, energy and resources to various organizations, teams and individuals in our community.
Social Services and Health
Scheels values the time and efforts put forth towards medical research. We also understand the hardships that certain medical conditions can bring. That is why Scheels participates in bake sales, silent auctions and in-store promotions and events to raise money for research and funding. We also suit up for competitions that benefit a medical related cause. From Breast Cancer to Cerebral Palsy, Scheels gladly donates resources to cover medical expenses, fund research and find a cure. Scheels' quiet involvement in these causes has made an impact on many people and within many communities.
The goal of each tiny house we build is to create a beautiful place for people to live their life to it's fullest potential. I believe that quality trumps all; That we all deserve to be surrounded by the best life has to offer. Each person must take the time to surround themselves with things they love. The presence of each item, emotion or experience in our lives has been cultivated directly or indirectly by us. We choose what stays and what goes. We choose how we want to live and when we do it right we get joy, love, relaxation and all the best of life.
