26.2 mile run to support Wigs for Women

26.2 mile run to support Wigs for Women

Regular price $ 26.00 Sale

I plan to run Grandma’s marathon on June 17th, 2017.

I chose to do this because a close friend of mine is running to honor her father who would have turned 62 on the exact same day. She thinks it makes sense to run 26 miles on what would have been his 62nd birthday.

I am joining her in running this for a few reasons.

  • support her in her adventure and goal
  • prove to myself that I could accomplish something if I put my mind to it.
  • raise money for an organization that I am proud of and to be able to help others in the process.

Often times we tell ourselves we can’t do something, but who says? We are the only ones holding ourselves back.

So on June 17th, 2017, I will be taking a chance at running 26.2 miles, and granted there are a lot of factors that contribute to my success of this. My dedication to training, the weather, my mind set, and the condition of my body. All of these things will be important come day of. With the challenge of running of 26.2 miles, I am fundraising for Wigs for Women.

I am asking if you would be willing to pledge $1.00 for every mile that I complete that day.

If I succeed and finish the marathon you will be donating 26 dollars to Wigs for Women. If you would prefer to donate a set amount you could do that too.If you would like to participate in this fundraiser, you do not need to pay any money until after the marathon.

When I get my bib number you can track my progress and see if I can conquer the 26.2 miles or not. You will know if I succeeded and crossed the finish line or what mile I succumbed to. After the race I will send you an email or letter to confirm the distance I completed to finalize your donation.

If you are interested in supporting me in my adventure, and most importantly, in a cause that I truly believe in.

If you have questions or would prefer to pay by check please contact me by email at heather.schmitz3@gmail.com

Thank you for your support.
